A timeless expression of our estate vineyards, Overture is full bodied but approachable in its youth. Overture shows generous dark fruit aromas and flavors with a soft, supple mid-palate.
At first glance, the 2022 Eight Years in the Desert looks to be almost black, but after closer inspection, a dark crimson starts to shine through with a tinge of purple on the rim. The nose is rife with notes of ripe blueberry, black plum, wild raspberry, espresso bean, sweet oak and a hint of crème de menthe and cedar. The entry is akin to walking through a tunnel of velvet walls with blackberry jam, reduced strawberry and a touch of rhubarb. Bright acidity throughout the palate, the wine closes with round, ripe tannins, fresh pluot and dark chocolate.
The 2022 Abstract pours a dark purple core with a neon, ruby rim. The nose is quintessential Abstract but with a broodier twist-notes of ripe black plum, cacao, black pepper, cedar, dried porcini, forest floor musk and sweet oak. The entry is coating and flooding with hints of blueberry preserves, tarragon, balsamic glaze and anise. Bright and lifting through the palate, the finish offers an umami note akin to eggplant yakitori.
Deep, dark and luxurious, this wine offers alluring aromas of blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, currant and cocoa powder, with underlying hints of saddle leather, cinnamon and clove. The voluptuous dark berry notes are echoed on the palate where they are framed by supple tannins and sophisticated layers of anise, vanilla, sweet tobacco leaf and fresh-cracked black pepper, all of which carry the wine to a juicy dark berry finish.
This vintage, Petite Sirah leads this haunting red blend with intense notes of dark blackberry and rich boysenberry. Zinfandel adds fiery pepper notes and brings a balanced structure to the final wine. In the finish, tantalizing layers of baking spices swirl amongst velvety tannins that have softened as they’ve aged 22 months in American oak. A sip of Phantom unfurls a seductive mystery yet to be solved.
Deep carmine-red in colour, typical of the variety. The aromas are diverse and complex, with a predominance of ripe black and blue fruit, including blackberry, plum, and blueberry. The 18 months of contact with French oak add strong notes of sweet spice, pink pepper, coffee, and tobacco, which are well paired with the fruit notes. The palate is balanced and silky, with the same fruit and dairy notes reappearing, including dulce de leche, enveloped within its big body and very long finish.
Bright ruby red with a light garnet rim. Intense floral aromas, reminiscent of roses and violets, with hints of aromatic herbs. On the palate, intense flavors of red cherries and raspberries are prominent; fine-grained, silky tannins confer an elegant structure. The finish is long and expressive.
Deep ruby color with a crimson hue. Subtle nuances of cherry and mint aromas support an abundance of mulberry and plum fruit. A soft and supple bouquet of lush plum, cedar and hints of blackberry are framed with silky tannins. Blueberry essence builds on the back palate for a smooth finish.
The 2018 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is ruby in color with notes of strawberry, fresh carnation, black pepper and vanilla. This wine builds in strength and body across the mid-palate with a blackberry character on the finish and bright cherry return. With integrated tannins, it’s expressive yet luxurious with an even, balanced finish.
On the nose, the 2021 Dundee Hills Pinot Noir shows notes of black cherry and raspberry accompanied by leather. On the palate, the fruit remains the same but is joined by black pepper and clove.
It has using a variety of oak to provide a spicy vanilla foundation, this wine has added layers of blueberry and cream flavors.
Opaque, dark scarlet in the glass. Intense aromas of plum, crushed red fruits and dried oregano developing into more floral and minerality tones of violets and wet slate. On the palate, generous layers of red fruit, ripe plum, brown sugar and blackcurrants sit alongside each other with more savory characteristics of seasoned leather and black tea. Texturally soft with firm tannins which provide structure, this wine shows balance and persistence throughout the palate.
Deep ruby at its core, with a medium ruby rim. The nose is a mixture of sweet and savory aromatics; Cherry tart and fresh plum elements are matched with sage, mint and cedar.
Bright ruby-red color, this wine offers layered notes of cherry, mulberry and raspberry. On the palate, it is complex and supple, with ripe berry flavors framed by silky tannins.
The Terra d’Oro 2020 Barbera is lush and inviting, with aromas of leather, anise, red cherry compote, fresh sage, raspberries, cinnamon and slate. A juicy, round and layered midpalate is complemented by a touch of cream and red fruit with a long, velvety finish. With its natural acidity, the Barbera goes well with richer meats and game.
On the nose, blackberry, currant, and plum are layered with dried, crushed herbs and licorice. On the palate, cedar, vanilla, nutmeg, and toasted coconut lead as plum and dried blackberries culminate in a lush, full mouthfeel and a lengthy, balanced finish.
The Prisoner was inspired by the blended wines first made by the Italian immigrants who originally settled in Napa Valley. The Prisoner is now the most recognized red blend, leading the resurgence of interesting blends by incorporating Zinfandel with the unlikely mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Merlot. Bright aromas of ripe raspberry, vanilla, and coconut. Flavors of fresh and dried blackberry, pomegranate, and vanilla linger harmoniously for a smooth and luscious finish.
Full of freshness and bright youthful fruits, the 2019 vintage brings an opulence and class to the wines. Aromatic plum and raspberries with freshness and balance, the wine has a round central core of red fruit that gives way to a complex mid-palate full of cassis, dark cherry, spice and vanilla. While offering immense pleasure in its youth, the 2019 Woodcutter’s – Shiraz will certainly develop into an impressive wine with a few more years in the cellar. A fantastic introduction to the Torbreck range.
Vibrant notes of blueberries over-layed with dried violet petals and gentle woody spices. A soft entry that quickly fans out and across the palate towards a perfect blend of power and elegance. Notes of primary blue fruits combined with licorice straps and a brilliantly fragrant floral overtone. Tannins are savory and detailed that opens the wine to a long complex finish.
Deep red color with violet tones. Fine, red fruit aromas that blend delicately with oak. On the palate, it is fresh and well balanced with medium tannins. Flavors of plums, vanilla and tobacco appear from eight months of aging in oak barrels.
