Veraton is the third wine Alto Moncayo produces from the Garnacha grape, from vines between 30 and 50 years old, and aged in barrels for 16 months. It is a wine with an attractive collection of balsamic notes, of chocolate and black fruits, very warm in the mouth and an extremely pleasant finish.
Strawberry, cherry, and black raspberry fruits with touches of black pepper, red earth, and mineral. Additional nuances of warm cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Vanilla and warm oak notes accent the supple tannins. The pleasing finish is soft and caressing. Easy drinking for any occasion.
Intense ruby red. Crushed mulberry, blackberry and plum flavours with well-judged oak maturation, adding layers of sweet spice, vanilla and dark chocolate. Succulent black fruit with a savoury edge of cigar box and graphite, all held together beautifully with smooth tannins and a tightly knit structure.
Beronia Gran Reserva 2013 is a very deep garnet colour. On the nose it displays a vast array of aromas, from stewed ripe fruit to prunes and nuts such as walnuts. Subtle hints of tobacco and powdered cacao also come through, together with white pepper and balsamic notes that add freshness. It delivers distinct notes of fruit and nuts on the palate, which provide structure and tannin. The wine is long, very complex, balanced and also sophisticated.
The grapes for this single-varietal Blaufrankisch come from biodynamically farmed vineyards characterised by limestone and slate in and near Jois on the slopes of the Leitha Mountains. The 2019 Blaufrankisch Kalk und Schiefer is charming and captivates with its scent of blackberries, blueberries, forest floor and some juniper and pepper. At the same time, its aroma bears witness to a floral freshness reminiscent of ivy and eucalyptus. Its cool, stony minerality, which is already apparent in the nose, is striking.

On the palate, pleasing sensations of vanilla and spice give way to grilled meats, olive tapenade, and cedar. The acid and tannin structure are perfectly balanced for either a Tuesday tipple or celebratory toast. This wine is meant to be enjoyed now.
Dark dusty violet color. Fruity aromas and flavors of boysenberry jam, eucalyptus, fertile earth, and blueberry pie with a velvety, crisp, fruity medium-to-full body and a warming, medium-length chocolate covered blackberries, toasty griddle cakes, mountmorency cherry, and salted blood orange finish with medium tannins and moderate oak. A juicy high-elevation malbec that will hit the spot.
Deep ruby/purple core with a black secondary color, and lighter toward the rim with moderate plus viscosity and slow-forming, moderately stained tears. Very aromatic and complex with ripe black cherry and cassis fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, and licorice spice with sweet tobacco, cedar, leather, and camphor notes. Full-bodied with ripe complex black cherry, boysenberry, cassis, and blackberry fruit on entry with baking spice. Dusty tannins appear on the midpalate with cedar, dried tobacco leaf, and saddle leather as it progresses. The finish is long, fresh, and balanced with notes of bay leaf, dried red rose petal, oak, and sustained tannins. The 2019 Isosceles is a bold wine with ripe fruit and attractive savory elements, which balance each other perfectly. This wine is rich and complex enough to be enjoyed on its own, but is a perfect match with a classic filet mignon with traditional sides.
Deep ruby/purple with black hue at the core and moderately stained tears on the glass. Very aromatic with ripe black, red cherry and blackcurrant fruit, vanilla and cinnamon spice with cedar, autumn leaves, oak, graphite, red licorice and cocoa. Full bodied with ripe red and black fruit and baking spice on entry with oak and dusty tobacco notes joining on the mid-palate. The finish is long and complex with mouth filling, fine tannins, lingering cherry fruit, barrel spice and oak with subtle floral notes.

This is a great example of Mendoza Malbec. Incredible deep purple red color. Loads of spice and black and red cherry aromas with notes of chocolate. The berry flavors really pop on the palate as the wine has both a full mid palate and lively acidity that leads to an incredibly long finish. A bottom note of freshly brewed espresso keeps the mouth watering too.
At first glance, the 2022 Eight Years in the Desert looks to be almost black, but after closer inspection, a dark crimson starts to shine through with a tinge of purple on the rim. The nose is rife with notes of ripe blueberry, black plum, wild raspberry, espresso bean, sweet oak and a hint of crème de menthe and cedar. The entry is akin to walking through a tunnel of velvet walls with blackberry jam, reduced strawberry and a touch of rhubarb. Bright acidity throughout the palate, the wine closes with round, ripe tannins, fresh pluot and dark chocolate.
The 2022 Abstract pours a dark purple core with a neon, ruby rim. The nose is quintessential Abstract but with a broodier twist-notes of ripe black plum, cacao, black pepper, cedar, dried porcini, forest floor musk and sweet oak. The entry is coating and flooding with hints of blueberry preserves, tarragon, balsamic glaze and anise. Bright and lifting through the palate, the finish offers an umami note akin to eggplant yakitori.
This vintage, Petite Sirah leads this haunting red blend with intense notes of dark blackberry and rich boysenberry. Zinfandel adds fiery pepper notes and brings a balanced structure to the final wine. In the finish, tantalizing layers of baking spices swirl amongst velvety tannins that have softened as they’ve aged 22 months in American oak. A sip of Phantom unfurls a seductive mystery yet to be solved.
Deep carmine-red in colour, typical of the variety. The aromas are diverse and complex, with a predominance of ripe black and blue fruit, including blackberry, plum, and blueberry. The 18 months of contact with French oak add strong notes of sweet spice, pink pepper, coffee, and tobacco, which are well paired with the fruit notes. The palate is balanced and silky, with the same fruit and dairy notes reappearing, including dulce de leche, enveloped within its big body and very long finish.
The Terra d’Oro 2020 Barbera is lush and inviting, with aromas of leather, anise, red cherry compote, fresh sage, raspberries, cinnamon and slate. A juicy, round and layered midpalate is complemented by a touch of cream and red fruit with a long, velvety finish. With its natural acidity, the Barbera goes well with richer meats and game.
The Prisoner was inspired by the blended wines first made by the Italian immigrants who originally settled in Napa Valley. The Prisoner is now the most recognized red blend, leading the resurgence of interesting blends by incorporating Zinfandel with the unlikely mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Merlot. Bright aromas of ripe raspberry, vanilla, and coconut. Flavors of fresh and dried blackberry, pomegranate, and vanilla linger harmoniously for a smooth and luscious finish.

Aromatic plum and raspberries with freshness and balance, the wine has a round central core of red fruit that gives way to a complex mid-palate full of cassis, dark cherry, spice and vanilla. While offering immense pleasure in its youth, the 2019 Woodcutter’s – Shiraz will certainly develop into an impressive wine with a few more years in the cellar. Bright deep, dark red with a luminous purple core. Vibrant notes of blueberries over-layed with dried violet petals and gentle woody spices. A soft entry that quickly fans out and saturates the palate: the perfect blend of power and elegance. Medium to full bodied in nature, this wine has ample fruit purity combined with lively savoury nuances. Notes of primary blue fruits combined with licorice straps and a brilliantly fragrant floral overtone. Tannins are savoury and detailed. They run long across the palate and opens the wine to a long complex finish.
