Valpolicella Ripasso is obtained through a second fermentation of Valpolicella wine in contact with the residual lees of Amarone. This process lasts 15 to 20 days and is followed by a 24 months aging in French oak. Compared to Valpolicella, it is more structured and has a higher longevity, the alcohol content is higher, the acidity lower, the roundness more marked and the values of the phenolic substances and extracts are higher. Valpolicella Ripasso offers a slightly ethereal perfume of red fruits and black cherry. The palate is fine, harmonious, dry and velvety.
The 2020 vintage once again over-delivers with aromas of Bing cherry, red raspberry, blueberries, roasted rhubarb, cardamom, and brown spice. On the palate, pleasing sensations of vanilla and spice give way to grilled meats, olive tapenade, and cedar. The acid and tannin structure are perfectly balanced for either a Tuesday tipple or celebratory toast. This wine is meant to be enjoyed now.

At first glance, the 2022 Eight Years in the Desert looks to be almost black, but after closer inspection, a dark crimson starts to shine through with a tinge of purple on the rim. The nose is rife with notes of ripe blueberry, black plum, wild raspberry, espresso bean, sweet oak and a hint of crème de menthe and cedar. The entry is akin to walking through a tunnel of velvet walls with blackberry jam, reduced strawberry and a touch of rhubarb. Bright and lifting through the palate, the finish offers an umami note akin to eggplant yakitori.

This vintage, Petite Sirah leads this haunting red blend with intense notes of dark blackberry and rich boysenberry. Zinfandel adds fiery pepper notes and brings a balanced structure to the final wine. In the finish, tantalizing layers of baking spices swirl amongst velvety tannins that have softened as they’ve aged 22 months in American oak. A sip of Phantom unfurls a seductive mystery yet to be solved.
Deep carmine-red in colour, typical of the variety. The aromas are diverse and complex, with a predominance of ripe black and blue fruit, including blackberry, plum, and blueberry. The 18 months of contact with French oak add strong notes of sweet spice, pink pepper, coffee, and tobacco, which are well paired with the fruit notes. The palate is balanced and silky, with the same fruit and dairy notes reappearing, including dulce de leche, enveloped within its big body and very long finish.

Bright aromas of ripe raspberry, vanilla, and coconut. Flavors of fresh and dried blackberry, pomegranate, and vanilla linger harmoniously for a smooth and luscious finish.
