The color is intense garnet red with a hint of brown hues. The aroma is intense and typical of the Nebbiolo grape with complex aromas of dark cherries, violets, hot spices, tar and truffles. The taste is dry and full-bodied with velvety tannins. The aftertaste is long and harmonious.
A bright ruby red with violet reflections. Intense aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant over balsamic undertones. Structured and balanced in the mouth, guided by well-proportioned, velvety tannins, with great persistence and a pleasantly mineral finish.
On the nose, aromas of raspberry, cherries, plums, leather, liquorice, spices and a touch of cocoa. The palate is round and fruity, with silky tannins of a very high quality, fresh, spicy and very long finish.
Valpolicella Ripasso is obtained through a second fermentation of Valpolicella wine in contact with the residual lees of Amarone. This process lasts 15 to 20 days and is followed by a 24 months aging in French oak. Compared to Valpolicella, it is more structured and has a higher longevity, the alcohol content is higher, the acidity lower, the roundness more marked and the values of the phenolic substances and extracts are higher. Valpolicella Ripasso offers a slightly ethereal perfume of red fruits and black cherry. The palate is fine, harmonious, dry and velvety.
